As for me, I've never been one of those shoppers. I only have one child to feed so that may be contributory to my laid back attitude. We buy her food in bulk. I also think us southerners lose our wits when inclement weather is in our path. I guess we are just used to all that smoldering sunshine!
I work for a local OB/GYN practice and our lovely office was closed today. Kudos to the rest of the healthcare world that reported as normal. Once upon a time, I was right there with you! I recall one frigid morning, I lost my footing on the snow/ice and ended up doing the splits in my employer's parking lot. Oh, and I'd never done a split in my life. Home girl just doesn't bend that way so "freely".
Once I got the confirming call this morning, I snuggled up with Maggie and went back to bed. I slept for an additional four hours. FOUR. Half the day out the window! I did manage to catch up on my DVR, start some laundry, and snap a few photos.
Here's a peek of Georgia's version of a "snow" day.
The woods are so still, it's eery. The only sounds were my feet crunching through the grass and the camera shutter. It was mighty cold out there in my PJ's, neon pink robe and boots. I ventured back in the house before my nose became the snot scene from Dumb and Dumber.
My poor hubby had to work all day. He is now safe and sound in his recliner, laughing at the news anchors on the television. He's the only person I've met that's able to find hilarity in watching news anchors fumble over their words.
Hope y'all have stayed safe through the winter weather.
Sending love and ice from the Hill.
Let me clarify. "Ice" as in precipitation...
